Sarah Barker

Sarah is the Administrative assistant for Business Supporting Communities in Conwy and Denbighshire.

Sarah studied law at the University of Wales Aberystwyth, and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Chester. Having worked as an additional learning needs assistant, she then went on to train as an infant school teacher.

She has been a member of the WRVS for over 5 years, volunteering at the WRVS cafes at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno, and delivering Meals on Wheels across Conwy and Denbighshire. During her studies at Chester Law College, she volunteered with the Witness Service program at Wrexham Magistrates Court.  She has also recently begun volunteering with the Citizens Advice Bureau in Denbigh.

Lucy Kew

Lucy Kew has joined DVSC as the Business Supporting Communities Project Officer for Conwy and Denbighshire. She has worked in the voluntary sector for around 8 years with community, environmental, youth and educational organisations, including Conwy Voluntary Services Council and hence has a good working knowledge of the sector.

She is also currently studying part-time towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Community Development at Bangor University, which she is really enjoying. She is very much looking forward to meeting community groups and businesses throughout the region and getting the project off the ground.

Tina Roberts

Tina Roberts is the newly appointed Finance Officer for Business Supporting Communities (B2C). Her background for the last 12 years is managed payroll – she was made redundant at the end of 2010 and feels very lucky to be involved in this new third sector project from the start.

She is an active member of various community projects ranging from PTA, Youth Theatre and Welsh Youth Clubs. She is based in Rhyl though her work area covers all 6 counties in North Wales.

Ffion Whitham

Ffion Whitham is the Administrative Assistant for Wrexham and Flintshire and will be based at AVOW in Wrexham and FLVC in Mold.

Ffion has a number of years experience in undertaking various administrative roles particularly within the Social Housing sector. More recently Ffion worked as a Housing Officer for a local Housing Association in North Wales gaining vast experience of working closely with the local community.

Ffion studied Applied Community Studies at Liverpool John Moore’s University and is now looking forward to being a part of this exciting new project in helping local businesses and community groups.

Emily Williamson

Emily Williamson is the Project Officer working across Anglesey and Gwynedd based in Mantell Gwynedd in Caernarfon and Medrwn Môn in Llangefni.

She has previously been involved in several third sector groups contributing to their development and various volunteering roles.   In addition to voluntary roles she has been working as a development worker across Anglesey providing community education for adults across the area. Within this time she has worked on many projects including Big Lottery funded, European Social Fund and other, helping to develop the skills of community groups and individuals.

She is really excited to be offered this opportunity to work on such an inspiring project.
